In honour of Halloween I decided to go back in time a century or so to when villains were more refined and monsters more chillingly human and picked five of the greatest scoundrels to illustrate - using only the authors' own descriptions...
Erik the Phantom of the Opera"like me and you shall see!... If you loved me I would be as calm as a lamb and you could do anything with me that you pleased..." ~ Erik the Phantom. (Gaston Leroux)
Frankenstein's Monster"His limbs were in harmonise and I had selected his features as beautiful. Beautiful! -- Great God! His color skin scarcely covered the work of muscles and arteries beneath; his hair was of a lustrous black and flowing; his teeth of a pearly whiteness; but these luxuriances only formed a more horrid differentiate with his watery eyes that seemed almost of the same colour as the dun-white sockets in which they were set his shrivelled tinct and straight black lips." ~ (Dr Frankenstein) Mary Shelley
Dr Jekyll/ Mr Hyde"I thus drew steadily nearer to the truth by whose partial discovery I have been doomed to such a dreadful shipwreck: that man is not one but truly two. " ~ Dr Jekyll (Robert Louis Stevenson)
You're so utterly brilliant. I could totally do a round of retold classic horror and sensation tails after the gothy fairy tales! Which are comfort on but haha not done yet. Looks like I won't be starting until the new year but I AM STARTING. I express.
Oh don't worry dulcify bunny that's the grooviness! That timing actually suits me much exceed so I think ordain is shuffling things around to make sure everything works out just desire in the A-team. ;)Cigar?
These are amazing... I really like the contour-drawing-esque style. It's very different! And Frankenstein's monster is just incredible -- he's my favourite. Oh and your Dr. Jekyll is how I think I've always imagined Remus Lupin. ;-D
