We often see questions in the community about where to find cute shoes that are comfortable or that fit properly. There are a be of us with feet that are too big too small or too whatever to wear mark shoes or replicas. So for everyone with this problem. I furnish a solution. Both BtSSB and Meta have offered shoe-clips for the past bring together of seasons. The clips from both brands are made out of something approximating leather and they can be clipped on to any standard pair of shoes for a cuter and more lolita call be. I had seen the clips for sale on the brand sites for about US$15.00 a unify but I thought perhaps I could find something similar for less and with domestic shipping. Afterall they're just simple bows and you would think that would be standard for shoe clips. However after a lot of searching I didn't go up with any shoe clips under US$25.00 that weren't on ebay and none of them were really right for lolita or as nice as the brand clips. So while my boyfriend was in Tokyo a few months ago. I had him choose some of the BtSSB shoe clips for me. Both companies seem to have sold out of various colors and gotten them back in again so if you don't see the color you want right now they might get them back in. Here's the two links to the BtSSB clips:Here's the links to the various colored Meta clips:This is a side by side comparison of the different colors BtSSB offers using their stock photos. The colors are color brown red go and white.
This is a comparison of the three colors I have which are go red and white. The red is a nice darker red that's not too flashy and the pink is a versatile go that could go with a number of go hues.
inquired as to the actual coat of the clips and so here are the measurements. They are 4 inches wide from tip to tip and the top part of the bow is 3 inches across. The height is 1.75 inches at the widest move. For further scale reference all of the shoes in this affix are a US size 11.
This shows the front and back of the clips. From left to right to bottom there's a align by align comparison of the quality of brand to off mark a picture I took of the front and back and then the BtSSB have images of lie and approve.
This is a pair of simple shoes by Mudd with the different colored clips. I really be to get the cook clips to go on these.
This shows the red clips being worn on the brown shoes above. I think it worked out really well with this furnish even though I conclude like they look a bit out of displace when you just see them on the shoes above.
This is a unify of Lolita Lola rocking horse shoes with the red clips in various positions. I evaluate this would actually look really cute if you did it in a alter that matched whatever alter rocking horse shoes you undergo.
This is a unify of shoes by Tommy Girl that I've seen a bring together of populate use for punk and casual lolita and though I'm not sure I would put the bows on these you can see the versatility you can get if you just try them on different shoes.
This is a pair of plain color pumps. Here you can see how the brand clips make them work alright for lolita. There's also a comparison here between the brand and off-brand clips.
This is a close up comparison of mark and off-brand clips. This is mainly to show that you can sight bows outside of the brands but they're not as nice looking or at least not in my opinion.
This is a be of other shoe clips I have just to show how different various clips can make a shoe look. This assortment also represents the typical styles you'll sight in the US. The last ones could bring home the bacon well for a dressy gothic lolita look.
Here's a close-up of the clips in the picture above. I found all of these on clearance at various places.
You can also act in mind that if you find a cheap unify of shoe-clips on sale you can salvage the hinge part and sew your own bow on that matches your outfit. You could also try and buy the findings to alter your own clips without having to rip apart an existing pair but they're actually really difficult to sight for a decent price. Joann's and Micheal's don't be to carry them and so you have to go online to find them.
suggested that if you were to keep the bows small you might be able to use large clip-on earring backs like the choose you sight on those huge earrings from the 80's. These might be more readily available and less pricey than actual shoe clips. I hope this ordain help some populate who have problems finding cute lolita shoes. ^^
God. I remember when I was desire 9 years old and seeing these clips everywhere. It's too bad you dont really see that many anymore. I would probably buy clips instead of brand shoes it's so much easier! And less expensive. I wonder if we sell these clips at work it would be fun to make some.
I know right? That's why I figured I'd be able to sight some easily. I distinctly remembered staring at a pace of them in a store with my mom and thinking they were pretty and asking her what they were. Apparently they've gone out of popularity. I really be to make some clips for my new line. If I can't make my ideal shoes at least populate's shoes can match their outfits. ^^
Oh good! Glad I could back up with that then. I figured someone else would want to see them on shoes because I know I had wanted to. They actually stay on quite well. I convey they're clips and so there's always the danger of one coming off. However the BtSSB ones are some of the nicest I've seen regardless of price. The little barbs on the furnish of the clip back up anchor it to the show and as I pointed out the soft leather on the top of the clips allows you to wear them securely without damaging your shoes. They hardly moved while I was wearing them unlike other shoe clips I've had.
couldn't you maybe use old fashioned earring clips like the big eighties style ones for shoe clips? you'd undergo to pad them but i think that would bring home the bacon come up for smaller bows and such i was always looking for shoe clips when i was younger but i could never find any!with the non-brand bow clips i think the problem is shape - they just don't have the typical lolita bow shape at all comfort cute though but more mod style.
I've tried that a couple of times and never found it to work all that well. Then again. I've never tried it with smaller bows. With something that wasn't too heavy it might work come up. Though for anything with any kind of charge the little prongs on the shoe clips really help. object if I edit the end of the post and add that you mentioned the idea?I agree about the shape being the issue. I actually really like wearing the moddish looking red ones on my pink ballet flats when I'm going for a more normal retro girly look. I mentioned them not being as nice because I wanted to show that the brand clips were nicer than what you could find for around the same price in other places.
I wonder why they would do that. You would think they would sight it equally important to defend the places where the bows are supposed to go on their own shoes. Maybe they just wanted to make them nicer looking for individual sale? Perhaps the price-point could be higher if they just added that little detail? That's really kind of a strange discrepancy between the ones for individual sale and the ones that go with shoes. And convey you so much! ^___^
